Wallaroo Entrance Road

11 September 2025

UPDATE - 15/08/2025

Copper Coast Council has been making significant progress on the new stormwater infrastructure along the Copper Coast Highway and its feeder roads. Crews have been hard at work installing collection pits and road crossings. They are now moving on to the main line, which will run along the road verge. Council has already completed the intersection of Irwine Street and Owen Terrace and plans to finalise improvements at the intersections of Beare Street, John Lloyd, and Evans Road.

The next major step is to connect these areas with a new main line along the north verge.

Additionally, Council is continuing stormwater work in Zones 3 and 4 along Owen Terrace, connecting these areas to the main swale drain. While Council's contractors are making steady headway, they are hopeful that Department for Infrastructure and Transport (DIT) subcontractors will begin their portion of the work sometime in August. The exact timing for the DIT's involvement, however, is dependent on their schedule.

As part of the broader Entrance Road Project tree removal will unfortunately be necessary. See the below images (or download here) for more details on Council's plans to undertake these works whilst also ensuring the area is beautified and new trees planted as replacements.
