Moonta Road Upgrade – Project Update

Stage 1 of the Moonta Road upgrade has now been successfully completed, delivering the initial scope of works and setting a strong foundation for the remaining stages of the project.

Stages 2 and 3 are currently in the design phase, with the completed designs expected to be received by mid‑March. Once the Stage 2 design is finalised, the project will be progressed to market, with quotations anticipated to be sought in late March.

Stage 2 of the upgrade will cover the section of Moonta Road between East Terrace and Carlisle Street. Subject to budget approval and procurement outcomes, construction of Stage 2 is planned to commence in the next financial year.

Stage 3 will extend the upgrade from Carlisle Street through to Marine Parade. This stage is tentatively scheduled for delivery in the 2026/27 financial year, allowing time for detailed planning, funding allocation, and coordination with surrounding infrastructure works.
