West Kadina Stormwater Improvements

The Copper Coast Council has been actively progressing the planning and design of stormwater improvements to enhance drainage and reduce flooding risks across the West Kadina area. These works specifically target known drainage constraints and aim to improve the overall performance of the stormwater network during significant rainfall events.

To deliver these improvements, Council successfully applied for external funding through the Stormwater Management Authority, securing financial support to undertake the extensive upgrade required. This funding has enabled Council to move forward with a comprehensive solution that may not otherwise have been achievable within existing budgets.

Council has worked closely with specialist consultants to design and develop a long-term, resilient stormwater management plan for the West Terrace catchment. The design focuses on mitigating potential flooding issues, improving stormwater capacity, and ensuring the system is capable of accommodating future growth and changing weather conditions. Once implemented, these upgrades will provide lasting benefits to the local community by protecting infrastructure, properties, and public spaces from stormwater impacts.
